Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent the Russian player secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former number one, has had a torrid year, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court after spring of 2023.

The win also indicates he has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.

But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the last five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first tour title, took control to push for a decider.

He saved four initial chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
